Warm up for ADXC 11 with a refresher on the organization's last visit to Al Ain
Bringing some of the most talented athletes from the international fighting scene to compete in the UAE, the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship is back to once again take action to the next level with its 11th edition, which is set to take place in Al Ain's ADNEC Centre on November 14th. With the organization now on the verge of unveiling the matches that will make up its next card, it is worth taking a moment to remember the ADXC 8, the last competition that brought grappling's most famous cage to the influential Emirati city.
Partnered with Experience Al Ain to ensure athletes would have the absolute best experience seeing the sights and learning the culture before showing their skills in the state-of-the-art ADNEC Centre, the ADXC 8 was held last December and gave fight fans everything they have come to expect from the organization ever since its explosive debut in 2023, with a show of lights and sounds supporting breathtaking matches between powerhouses of Jiu-Jitsu and MMA. In the Main Event, Jafel Filho got the better of Amir Albazi after five incredibly balanced rounds, keeping an aggressive stance as he countered takedown entries with submission attempts and using his technical prowess to seize controlling positions and take the win via unanimous decision.
Meanwhile, in the Co-Main Event, Roberto Cyborg had his strength and stamina on full display as he defeated the tough-as-nails Haisam Rida. A strong contender that bagged a win on the very first edition of the ADXC, the experienced Cyborg stepped back into the cage ready for a new challenge and used his wrestling game to bring Haisam to the ground multiple times throughout the match. For his part, Haisam found his flow in the latter part of the duel and even made some dangerous attacks, but Cyborg avoided any submission attempts and kept his pace to emerge victorious in a split decision.
The competition also featured Khaled Al Shehhi beating Thalison Soares in an intense and technical bout, Maria Luiza Delahaye going all-out with her attacks to defeat Brenda Larissa, Salem Al Qubaisi locking a cross-choke to submit Mukhammad Ramazanov in under than a minute, and many more exciting matches.
